You identify when you’re giving birth and you’re supposed to look at a photo of a happy spot to focus on? (Personally I was focused on my husband whose job it was to look up from his newspaper sometimes and keep an eye on the epidural.) Well, my happy place is less of a sight and more of a smell.
I once spent a enjoyable week at a yoga/health spa in Mexico called Rancho la Puerta. Every morning, I hiked mountains and was overwhelmed by the distinguish of lavender, sage and rosemary, which were warming under the desert sun. When I smell a cartel of those herbs, I’m taken back to that euphoric, peaceful moment and the snapshot fills my construct.
Recently, on a particularly crappy winter day, I went to Civello Salon and Spa on Beauty queen St. West for a consult with creative director Kristjan Hayden. Before he blew my mane out, he warmed some lotion in his hands and held it under my nose. I was instantly transported back to the Mexican due. What he used was Aveda Stress-Fix body lotion from the new Aveda Stress-Fix aromatherapy in conformity.
