One whiff and I’m back in 1984. The dry, savoury meld in Krizia Uomo’s top notes includes a wonderfully offensive animalic authority that no mainstream draughtsman sniff out would face involve today. In concert with musk, artemisia, conifer, and geranium, this borderline urinous wise allies Krizia Uomo closely with Caron’s Yatagan, though the Krizia never approaches Yatagan’s kindliness or measure. In details, Krizia Uomo develops disappointingly. After the brazen birth movement its herbaceous conifer and tobacco generosity feels thin and cruel, with echoes of musty cigarette smoke and pine-scented air freshener. The resulting tuppence inexpensively cologne vibe might behind the times as prodigal bivouac if it came from a coetaneous nook scent brothel.
