The HSUS clasp release, issued Wednesday, stated that APHIS had conducted unplanned testing at various Tennessee Walking Horse competitions.

"Most troubling, of the 52 horses tested at the Tennessee Walking Horse Native Celebration, the largest and most prominent walking horse show in the country, every apart horse tested positive for illegal agents," the press notice stated.

USDA spokesman Dave Sacks stated Thursday that they had received the HSUS plead, and would "evaluate it thoroughly."

"Our first step will be to share it with USDA's Office of the Unspecific Counsel, in order to measure it up against the Horse Protection Act regulations, so that we can nicely determine if the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has the right to act upon what HSUS has suggested in its petition," Sacks said.

Sacks also stated that when the USDA inspects horses, "we are looking for any signs of soring. Numbing agents are a consequential problem, but we can and do detect them.

When I habituated to to entertain by singing “old” songs, I would announce that “I act in memories” and it’s wonderful to remember. So many ordinary things will trigger a recollection from the past like a song, a word, a place, even a smell.

As a juvenile, I always loved the sweet smells that came from my mother’s beautiful vanity. It was an old piece of furniture with a set of drawers on each side and a lower table in the center with a mountainous mirror backing. Lined up on the lace doilies were the pretty scent bottles. There was Tabu, Maja, Joy, Jungle Gardenia, Nina Ricci’s L’Air du Temps, Woodhue, Tigress and Evening in Paris colognes and perfumes.

In the slight top drawer was her Coty’s face powder, the only face covering she ever hand-me-down, and her Tangee and Tabu Lipsticks. The next drawer was deeper and housed larger items.

There was a big box of Epsom Salts for drenching tired feet and other uses. There was Pine Tar Soap, in case of a Tic or Flea trespass, a Hot Curling Iron, Henna Pac, Witch Hazel and Vaseline, all of which had varied uses but were in demand.

Frenetic parents are enthusiastic to try almost anything to rid their children of lice. Lice shampoo and nit combs are staples of the educate year, but unfortunately in the since decade or so, lice have developed intransigence to many of the lice shampoos.
